Consultant responsible for collection, analysis and dissemination of information
Position: Consultant to support the collection, analysis and dissemination of information
Based in Antananarivo
Background
The Economic Development Board of Madagascar (EDBM) was established by the Government of Madagascar (GOM) to contribute to (i) improve the business climate, (ii) promote and (iii) facilitate private investment Madagascar. Financing activities EDBM is provided by the Integrated Growth Poles Project (CIP)
The EDBM is gradually implementing various initiatives intelligence and economic intelligence in order to promote transparency and dialogue between economic actors, contribute to discussions on development strategies, and promote private investment and public-private partnership.
The EDBM recruiting an experienced consultant in the collection, analysis, production and dissemination of economic information to strengthen these initiatives.
Mission and functions
The Consultant will main tasks: (i) support the collection, processing and dissemination of economic and (ii) information to create new information materials using modern communication technologies.
Without being exhaustive, the responsibilities of the Consultant will include:
i) Collect relevant information to support the monitoring unit
* Identify ongoing information needs of users and target EDBM, as well as private sector partners and the government, with a particular emphasis on data related to the regulation and the business environment and investment climate in the growth sectors of the economy.
* Establish a system of monitoring and ongoing collection of data and information from relevant sources (internal, government, institutions, donors, businesses and groups, etc ...) at national and international level.
* Comparing the information and check their reliability, document and further investigations when necessary to eventually feed summary sheets or databases.
ii) Create innovative media to disseminate information processed
* Prioritize, analyze, process information and participate in the drafting of notes, articles, files, folders according to the needs and targets.
* Create and implement templates and broadcast media with a focus on modern communication tools (email, blogs and social networks, websites ...) without excluding more traditional media (newspapers, news letters ...).
* Disseminate information through various media and selected according to defined intervals.
iii) Sustain the monitoring system and media information created
* Train and lead an internal team that will be able to take over for the continuation of the initiatives put in place.
* Develop and implement a strategy and a plan for financial sustainability or the media created: advertising revenue, subscriptions, sponsorship, etc ...
Term
The term of office is six (06) months, renewable.
Profile, experience and skills
The Consultant shall have:
* Higher education in economics, journalism, languages, law, or equivalent,
* Passion for the economy and good knowledge of the business environment in Madagascar, particularly in the areas of Tourism, Agribusiness, ICT, Light Industry, Energy,
* Successful experiences in the world of journalism would be an asset,
* Excellent drafting and communication skills,
* Control of modern means of communication (websites / blogs, social networks ...)
* Fluency in French. Fluency in English is an asset.
